Episode 42 Denton Dallas and Beyond

Episode 42 Denton Dallas and Beyond

In this week’s episode we recap the Denton First Tuesday Food Truck Fest.  From there we get some on location beer musings by Sparkles and Edwin. Recently, Denton also experienced the opening of Gold Mine BBQ out on Hickory Street. We conclude the Denton segment by fulfilling a listener’s request to review La Milpa. As we move into the Dallas area, we discussed a retro 80’s concept that has great potential for recapturing most of my loose change.  In the beyond section of the show, we briefly discuss an upcoming trip to Las Vegas (Yes Rob, we are extremely excited). The show concludes as the DDB team goes ballistic after discussing the testicular fortitude that is required to consume a newly designed DDB cocktail.

  1. I am the manager for Gold Mine BBQ at 222 W Hickory which is mentioned in your podcast. I want to thank you all for giving honest feedback on your experience, and I’d once again like to extend an offer to come and try our cue again. We have made some great improvements to our systems which has dramatically improved our food. I also encourage you to check out our listing on Yelp! and see what other Dentonites are saying! Ask for Thomas when you come in next, and I’ll be sure you’re taken care of. As you said, Denton needs this, and we are going to bring it… I guarantee it.

  2. Thomas:

I was at Gold Mine this week for lunch with friends and had a great experience. The brisket was juicy and delicious. The service was excellent and the tea was the best I’ve ever had. I talked about this recent experience on this week’s episode #44. The chocolate was a nice touch at the end of the meal. I will definitely be back!
