Denton, TX Folk-Rock band Levi Cobb & The Big Smoke announce the release of their debut studio album, “Troublemaker,” available now. “Troublemaker” was recorded at Midlake-owned Redwood Studios in Denton, and was produced by Midlake guitarist Joey McClellan. The album will be available in all major online retail outlets, and in independent record stores in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. The band will celebrate the release with a CD release party at The Abbey Underground in Denton on March 6.
Levi Cobb & the Big Smoke was founded by front man Jesse Thompson in 2010, and he was joined by guitarist/vocalist Kim Nall, bassist Dave Stone, and drummer Charlie Moore in early 2012. Since then, the band has performed steadily in a variety of venues in Denton, Dallas, and the surrounding area, developing a sound that combines folk traditions with raucous, small town energy and pays homage to the songwriting styles and layered harmonies of 1970s-era folk rock acts like Neil Young, The Band, and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
